Brain Surgery Unit

The Brain Surgery Unit at Neuro Spinal Hospital brings together a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified consultants and specialists including Brain Surgeons, adult and pediatric Neurologists, Interventional Neuroradiologists, Neurophysiologists, and a comprehensive neuro-rehabilitation team.

This international and multi-disciplinary expertise, combined with advanced technology for diagnosis and treatment and an evidence based approach to patient care makes the Brain Unit at Neuro Spinal Hospital the ideal destination for any patient seeking world class treatment.

The Brain Suite

Of all the technologies present in the unit, the brain suite is one of the most crucial. It integrates advanced Image-Guided Surgery and all the modern diagnostic tools, including high-field intraoperative MRI and powerful surgical microscopes to treat complicated neurosurgical cases, such as brain tumors and vascular abnormalities.

Traditionally, surgeons had to wait for the surgery to end and perform scans to determine if they had fully resected the tumor. If there were still signs of residual tumor, the patient would need to undergo another surgery.

With the Brain suite they have the possibility to help pinpoint surgical landmarks of the brain, the images from the iMRI are transferred in real time to the navigation system, which acts like a global positioning system for the human body. The Neurophysiological system allows monitoring the functions of the brain during surgery to optimize safety and ensure essential functions remain intact.

Combined with surgical-grade microscopy and advanced digital record-management equipment, it was designed to facilitate brain surgery while minimizing potential complications.
